Races

Races defines the appearance of your characters.

They also define the starting position and scene in the world.

Each race can have its own list of available classes, custom stats and starting items.

Generic Fields

IDThe ID of this asset data element. Automatically generated.
NameName of the asset data in the project and editor.
Display NameThe name that will be displayed to the player.
File NameThe name of the file in the project. Automatically generated.
DescriptionThe description of the race.

Race Data

Gender

Field NameFunction
GenderAllows you to set a gender from a list of available genders. You can create genders under Types > Genders
PrefabThe character prefab for this gender of this race.
IconThe icon for this gender of this race.
Dynamic Animator?Is the race using dynamic animators for rest & combat?
Rest ControllerThe animator that is active while in rest mode.
Combat ControllerThe animator that is active while in combat mode.

Start Settings

PositionThe coordinate at which the race will start in the game scene.
FactionThe faction of this race.
SpeciesThe species of this race.

Action Abilities

The video dates from before RPG Builder 2.0 however what is explained is still accurate, the thing to keep in mind is that the editor UI has changed.

In the video action abilities on items and races are shown,

Items are now under Economy > Items and action abilities only apply for weapon item types

Races are now under Character > Races

In 2.0 the "ActionKey" key type as been added, video only shows "OverrideKey"

KeyThe pre defined keybind for this ability to be used. This field opens upon selecting Override Key.
Action KeyThe action key to trigger this action ability. Action Keys are set under Settings > Action Keys > Action Key List.

Starting Items

ItemThe item that will be given upon character creation with this Race selected.
CountThe amount given.
EquippedShould the item be automatically equipped?

Stat Allocation Menu

The Stat Allocation Menu is a menu where you will be able to allocate stat points, defined in this section, upon character creation
