Species

The video dates from before RPG Builder 2.0 however what is explained is still accurate, the thing to keep in mind is the editor UI has changed

Species are now located in Character > Species

Species for races are located in Character > Races > Your Race > Start Settings

Species for npcs are located in AI > NPCs > Your NPC > Combat

Species can be assigned to Races & NPCs. They can have custom stats and traits. Traits allows species to receive more or less damage from a specific damage type.

Generic Fields

NameName of the asset data in the project and editor.
Display NameThe name that will be displayed to the player.
File NameThe name of the file in the project. Automatically generated.
DescriptionThe description of the species

Stats

Field NameFunction
Use Template?If enabled, you can select a Stat List Template
StatThe stat to alter.
Added ValueThe value that the stat will be altered by.
Bonus per levelThe amount of this stat to be gained for each level.
Is Percent?Is the Value a percentage?
Override minimum value?Should the minimum value of the stat be overriden?
Min. ValueNew minimum value
Override maximum value?Should the maximum value of the stat be overriden?
Max. ValueNew maximum value
Override starting percentage?Should the starting percentage of the stat be overriden?
Starting percentageNew starting percentage value. Slider bar.
ChanceChance of the stat being present on the character upon creation

Traits

Field NameFunction
Damage TypeThe damage type to modify, for example make this species weaker against fire damage or more resistant to fire damage. Damage Types are created under Types > Damage Types
